Nils Gaup directs this Norwegian festive feature following a young girl who sets out to find the Christmas Star. She is aided in her quest by forest elves and a friendly brown bear and even encounters Father Christmas as she traverses the snowy landscape. With her kingdom afflicted by a terrible curse, the girl believes that finding the star is the key to restoring happiness to the land.
However, with a witch and a malicious count arrayed against her, she will have to overcome many difficulties if she is to succeed in her quest.
