Spike Lee writes, directs and stars in this US musical. As a young boy, Bleek Denzel Washington was forced by his mother to constantly practise playing the trumpet despite not being particularly interested in becoming a musician. Nonetheless, as a grown man Bleek is an accomplished jazz musician performing with a quartet managed by his childhood friend Giant Lee. Romantically involved with two women, Bleek's love life begins to cause problems for him as does his friendly rivalry with fellow musician Shadow Wesley Snipes, which gradually becomes less friendly and more heated, threatening to disrupt their quartet.
