When her lover, Berlin newspaper editor Dr Ludwig Schn Fritz Kortner, suffers an untimely death, Lulu subsequently takes up with his son Alwa Franz Lederer as she seeks to evade the attentions of the law when the authorities place the burden of guilt upon her for Schn's death.
