His best friend Iris Emily Blunt suggests that he make use of her family's secluded holiday home to get away from it all and gather his thoughts. Over a year after the death of his brother, Jack Mark Duplass is still in emotional turmoil.
When Iris unexpectedly joins them the following morning, it soon becomes clear that all three have their reasons for hiding away from the world. However, Jack arrives to find the house already occupied by Iris's half-sister Hannah Rosemarie DeWitt, who has come to recover from the breakdown of a long-term relationship. As their relationships deepen and intertwine over the coming days, all three come to learn a lot about themselves and each other.
