Martin Scorsese directs this black comedy starring Griffin Dunne. After another tedious day at work, Paul Hackett Dunne meets Marcy Franklin Rosanna Arquette - an encounter which leads to the craziest and most hellish night of his life. Later, on the way to Marcy's apartment, his 20 for the taxi fare flies out the cab's window. Chaos soon unfolds, bringing about a series of nightmarish disasters which block his attempts to return home. Crossing paths with burglars, punks and a mysterious waitress, he is eventually pursued by a relentless mob before being trapped inside a creation of plaster and papier-mch by a sculptor. The cast also includes John Heard, Linda Fiorentino and Catherine O'Hara.
